St. Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT), ARUSHA CENTRE was officially established in 2013, in line with the Mission and Vision of the St. Augustine University of Tanzania, which envisions a holistic development of a person and the managed by the Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC), with the motto, “Building the City of God”


SAUT ARUSHA Centre is located in Arusha City, Ngarenaro area next to Ngarenaro Catholic Parish church commonly known as "Kwa Fr. Babu". The centre is set in a very accessible area making it easily reachable From Arusha town. The centre has adequate lecture rooms, offices, Library and ICT facilities with reliable Internet services throughout.


When the Catholic Bishops of Tanzania decided to extend the Church's services to the provision of Higher Education they envisioned a training that would impart academic and professional skills, as well as inculcate values of civic and social learning, such as acquisition of national identity, cultural norms, political growth and responsible citizenship. Thus, the Church's vision is holistic development of a person and respect for human dignity.

Thus St. Augustine University of Tanzania fulfils its goal by preparing persons well equipped to contribute to the ideals of social, economic and political development.

SAUT Arusha campus has hostels which accommodate all students who are in need of staying in the hostels.


St.Augustine University of Tanzania has Three Centres and Seven Constituent Colleges.
